What is Joaquin Niemann’s net worth, salary and brand endorsements?
Joaquin Niemann is a professional golfer from Chile. Having won two PGA Tour titles, Niemann transitioned to LIV Golf, another professional golf tour that is a rival to the PGA Tour, in 2022. He held the coveted title of the world’s top amateur golfer from May 2017 until April 2018, dominating the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 44 weeks. Although he originally aimed to attend the University of South Florida, he was unable to do so due to TOEFL score requirements.
A few of Niemann’s amateur achievements include winning the Mark H. McCormack Medal in 2017, which recognized him as the leading player in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. This earned him entries into the prestigious U.S. Open and Open Championship in 2018. Moreover, he went on to claim victory at the Latin America Amateur Championship 2018, which secured him a spot in the Masters Tournament in 2018. However, Niemann opted to let go of these opportunities to embark on his professional career as he made an impressive debut at the 2018 Valero Texas Open with a sixth-place finish.
Joaquin Niemann achieved Special Temporary Member Status on the PGA Tour after a strong performance at the Memorial Tournament. His consistency collected him a PGA Tour card for the 2018–19 season, following a string of top-10 finishes, including a T5 at The Greenbrier. This placed him alongside golfers like Jordan Spieth and Jon Rahm, who also bypassed the Web.com Tour Finals to secure PGA Tour cards. Niemann’s first PGA Tour victory came in September 2019 at A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier, making him the first Chilean to win on the tour and the youngest international winner since 1923.
At the 2019 Presidents Cup, Niemann represented the International team, although the U.S. team emerged victorious. He excelled with notable performances at the Sentry Tournament of Champions and the Sony Open in Hawaii. In July 2021, Niemann tied for the lead at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, only to be narrowly eliminated in the playoff. He claimed the Genesis Invitational in February 2022, finishing two strokes ahead. Niemann’s move to LIV Golf in August 2022 marked a new beginning in his career, where he captained the Torque GC team. He won the Australian Open 2023 in a playoff, defeating Japanese golfer Rikuya Hoshino.
